About Us

Farmington Presbyterian Preschool

Welcome!

At Farmington Presbyterian Preschools we offer a developmental program that allows young children to explore, test, and begin to understand the world using their natural curiosity and creative thinking. Our program provides a rich and varied learning experiences that contributes to a child’s social, emotional, physical, creative, and intellectual growth.

Our Story

In 1967, a group of young mothers at First Presbyterian thought it a shame that the church’s nice classrooms were used only on Sunday. They eventually decided to open a nursery school to serve all the children of the community, particularly those who might not otherwise be able to attend preschool. With the approval and financial support of the First Presbyterian Church, the women obtained state licensing and the Nursery School opened its doors in 1968.

True to its mission as a community outreach program, the Nursery School offered (and continues to offer) scholarships to disadvantaged children.
Over the last 50 years, the Nursery School (now preschool) has taught nearly 2,000 children from all walks of life, from many faiths, and from different nations. To this day, our preschool continues its mission to serve this community and its children and remains a very popular choice for parents of preschoolers.

Philosophy & Mission

To offer children a quality, interactive learning experience which enables each child to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially in a nurturing Christian environment. We strive to support and further the mission of First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, welcoming all people into our community of faith and sharing our love and knowledge with others.

“Great school in a very loving and caring environment where the specialness of each child is a priority. The children could not be loved more giving them a place where they can blossom . They learn to be kind and thoughtful to others and value their specialness.”

-The Ingles Family

Both of our children have gone to FPP and we cannot say enough good things about it. The staff is so kind and caring, and seem genuinely invested in the kids’ well-being and growth. We have felt very included and involved with the program; we’ve especially liked the activities that connect the preschool and the church, and all the opportunities to donate and volunteer. We only wish the kids could go there forever!
